France: INNOQUA demo site in La Canourgue
La Canourgue is a French commune located in the South of France, in the department of Lozere in the Occitania region, 160 km north of Montpellier. The INNOQUA demo site is located at the Source du Frézal aquaculture farm (Loius Pasteur high school), where it demonstrates the role of earthworms in ecological processing and valorisation of agro-industrial sludge. Sludge management is a major issue for inland fish farming facilities. The INNOQUA solution aims to overcome the problem of disposal by controlling and neutralising sludge as waste, and transforming waste into compost.
